ARLINGTON -- As long as their pitching holds, the Angels will stay in the race.
They've charted, shuffled, adjusted and juggled their bats in the hopes of helping a struggling offense, but scoring runs in bunches does not appear to be on the horizon.
With a staff that can throw up zeros and ones most nights, though, posting just a two of their own will usually add up to a W.
The Angels recorded a 2-1 victory in 11 innings over the Rangers on Friday, thanks to Vladimir Guerrero's solo homer in the top of the 11th, his 100th home run with the Angels and his 29th this season.
The blow not only helped the Angels keep pace with the A's in the American League West, but it helped to soften a blown save by Francisco Rodriguez -- his first since July 29 -- and an end to his scoreless streak of 30 2/3 innings. He hadn't allowed a run since June 26.
