ARLINGTON -- For general manager Bill Stoneman, this season's work is largely done.
Any player he might acquire in a trade wouldn't be available for the postseason and the club is through calling up players from the Minors for its September roster expansion. But his focus is no less targeted.
"We're in this all the way," Stoneman said of wishing to concentrate on the current season. "When we get eliminated, that is when we'll start to work things out."
On the table this offseason will largely be the remaining agenda item from last year and this past July's trading deadline. The club is still trying to land the impact bat to plug into the middle of the lineup. Stoneman made runs at Miguel Tejada and Alfonso Soriano in July and nearly lured Paul Konerko away from Chicago last winter.
