ANAHEIM -- A coast away, the Angels honored the Sept. 11 tragedy that befell the country five years ago.
A lengthy moment of silence was held before the start of the Angels-White Sox game on Monday to honor all those affected by the terrorist attacks.
All fans at Angel Stadium stood and applauded five members of the Wounded Warriors Program at Camp Pendleton, who were honored at the pitcher's mound. The Marines had all spent time fighting in Iraq.
To represent the group, Cpl. John Walker of Ohio threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Angels outfielder Tim Salmon.
