ANAHEIM -- It's nothing serious, but Maicer Izturis' hamstring problems just don't seem to go away.
The third baseman, who has been an unsung hero in the Angels' offensive resurgence this season, was out of the starting lineup on Saturday with a sore hamstring. Izturis' hamstring troubles have held him out of a handful of contests since August, and he also missed Sunday's series finale in Detroit. It's only taken him a day or two in order to recover each time, but with time running out to catch the A's, the Angels want Izturis' .371 on-base percentage -- second on the team -- in their lineup as much as possible.
The injury is not as serious as the strained left hamstring that put Izturis on the disabled list for six weeks earlier in the year.
