ANAHEIM -- Little Leagues in Orange County were looking for a mass donation center for used baseball equipment. Now, they've found one.
In conjunction with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, the Angels hosted an equipment collection drive before Saturday's contest with the Blue Jays. Fans were encouraged to bring new and used baseball items, including balls, helmets, bats, gloves and cleats, to three centers located outside Angel Stadium.
The first 1,000 that donated equipment or gave a minimum contribution of $10 were presented with a Tim Salmon Commemorative 1,000th RBI pin.
