Default Angels score another win

The all-or-nothing Angels are at it again, piling up runs in bunches as they continue to hunt for consistency.

The Fourth of July supplied the perfect background for the Angels to barbecue an opponent as a 14-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners was fueled by a seven-run sixthinning.

A team that has dealt with an underachieving offense most of the season has gone through these run-scoring outbursts before, so time will tell if this kind of production is here to stay.

In mid-April, the Angels scored 29 runs in a four-game stretch at Baltimore and Minnesota and followed that by winning five of their next seven games before a six-game losing streak. In May, they scored 12 runs in back-to-back games and proceeded to lose eight of their next nine.

On a six-game road trip in June through Cleveland and Tampa Bay, the Angels scored in double digits three times in a five-game stretch. On the next homestand, they lost six of 10.
