For those people who haven't figured it out already, or are interested in saving some money, here's what to do if you see an interesting rumor appearing in the for-pay portion of ESPN, i.e. Rumor Central:

Go to the online edition of the local newspapers covering that team.
Read them.

That's it. You could probably get an even better idea of which papers to scan through by reading the most active blogger...
