Default Little League Scorekeepers

Does anyone know how official or unofficial Little League or youth leagues are scored? Is there one official scorekeeper for that game, such as the home team? Or does each team have a scorekeeper and they compare scorebooks with each other at the end of the game?

Thank you for the feedback.

Wink Little League Rule Book

The home team is responsible for keeping the books. If the park in which you are playing has a volunteer to keep the books, that is OK. Whoever the official score keeper is, they must keep the pitch count too.
In the 2008 Little League rule book, if you have one, look on page 34. If your book is 2007, just look in the contenets for VI PITCHERS. The answer that you are looking for starts at the letter
(f). If you don't have a rule book look at this, starting on page 4.

This is an official rule book but it is for little league instructors and it has more details than a regular rule book. If you ahve any more questions, email me at chiefumpire@senoiaarealittleleague.com

Thank you, Littleleagueump. Does this mean that the official scorekeeper makes decisions on "hit or error", "stolen base or wild pitch", etc...? Or is it that the records are not kept to that level of detail? Thanks again in advance.

Some leagues, I am not sure how many, will offer volunteers, coaches and umpires classes on what they want to do to help. Umpires go to clinics. Many miles of driving to these. From where I am, there is St. Pete and then there are the state clinics in two to three places in Georgia. This is where I come in as an insturctor.
Then there are coaches clinics. This is to help coaches who need help in undersatnding the fundamentals of the game, how to teach the kids how to hit, field, catch and throw.
Now, the other is scorekeepers. That pretty much says it all. But, there are leagues where moms and dads dod the books. The downfall of that, and I have seen it, moms or dads who keep the book while THEIR own kid is playing. Sometimes their kid get three hits in a game when I called him out on strikes four times. Go figure.
Little League offers many clinics and classes. If your kid is playing with Little League or you are working with Little League, you might want to browse around their web site. Here is a part of the site. This is rules changes.

Here is my site where you can see me and who I am. Also, on the first page that you will see, there is an ad for a clinic called Al & Al. This is an example of what there is for coaches in our area.
