I am in the process of trying to buy a bat for my 2 boys who will be 11 and 13 next year on little league. I am looking for the most durable and best hitting bat with a lot of pop and huge sweetspot. My boys want a Stealth or TPX Catalyst and have mentioned Demarini's. What would you guys prefer from the experiences you have had hitting with these or with other bats? I just don't want to make a $200 mistake for my kids. My youngest has hit the Catalyst really well but I heard that they break easily. He also has tried the 07 Stealth (Blue and Gray version) and he really didn't hit well with that one yet.
The best youth baseball bats, IMHO, are the Demarini's. They don't have the problem Catalysts do with breaking, and they're not as "advanced as the Stealth. Also, if you buy youth baseball bats online, you can usually find a deal.
The Stealth bats tend to have the most pop, in my experience - most of the boys on the teams I've worked with sing their praise. However, the Demarini bats do receive a great deal of praise and tend to be sturdier...
I would go with Stealth, but Demarini is a close second. The Catalyst's, as you already noted, do tend to break.
