Brett, McRae and Bluma Join National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans

• Kansas City VA Medical Center, 4801 E Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, Mo.
• Each year during the month of February, the Department of Veterans Affairs pays tribute to our hospitalized veterans with the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans. Former Royals players will join other local celebrities to visit the patients at VA Medical Centers.
• Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett, former pitcher Jaime Bluma and former outfielder Brian McRae. Royals Mascot Sluggerrr will also be on hand.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15
20th Annual Greater Kansas City Day Launch

• Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, 1616 East 18th Street, Kansas City, Mo.
• April 2 marks the 20th anniversary of Greater Kansas City Day, an event which benefits the Rotary Youth Camp and additional children's charities in the area. More than 1,500 volunteers join community sports and civic celebrities selling special editions of The Kansas City Star on metropolitan street corners. Co-chair George Brett will join Adele Hall and members of the Greater Kansas City Day steering committee to unveil a special anniversary logo and announce plans for the 2007 event.
