Mark Redman tries not to think about it. But it’s there, looming large and inescapable. Finish strong, and he positions himself for a financial windfall in the coming offseason as a free agent.
“This market is going to be pitching-starved,” he said. “Teams are going to want experience, guys who go down the stretch and can help out a team by logging innings. That’s me.”
The Royals will, of course, be among those teams seeking to bolster their rotation but, as yet, have not opened negotiations with Redman about a contract extension.
