Exclamation Not much of an intro, but...

A couple questions for someone like me...

I'm a sophomore in high school 15 years old, 5'9", and this would be my first time playing a sport like this. I love baseball and know the fundamentals and play catch a lot. I'm not fast when I'm forced to run, but when there's adrenaline I can get pretty fast like most people. I'm also not fit but im not chubby either. I had Osgood Schlatters 2-3 years ago so there is still a pain which possibly takes catcher out of the question. For example, when it;s really cold outside and I'm wearing shorts, my right knee gets a pain.

Like I said this is my first time playing a sport other than playing for fun. I have no experience in things like sliding or proper hitting mechanics. I practiced pitching when I played catch and know how to throw a 4 seamer and I like throwing a knuckler cause I don't see the spin :P. Don't know how to spot accurately so not much of a pitcher.

I don't know if I should try out for JV because I am not an experienced player, so I might ask to join freshmen team though people will be wondering if I'm a freshman. So now the questions:

What position should I play?
Would you join JV or Freshmen if you were me?
Any more tips?

I think you mean JV as the freshman and Varsity as the top level, correct? Try out for the JVbteam. I have a great position for you.. pitcher! You don't have to be in tip top shape like a shortstop would (Look at C.C.!). So, yeah. If I where you I would become a pitcher and play my first year with the freshman team. But make sure you practice pitching, i.e bullpens long toss, etc. Get good and impress your freshman coach, and he will bump you up to the JV team and, hey, who knows.. if you have good grades and are a good pitcher.. you could get a scholarship. Good luck. let me know if this answered your question.
