Around the Horn: Middle infielders
Tejada, Matsui bring fresh faces, unfamiliarity to diamond

But another interesting study is the relationship between the second baseman and shortstop. They must be on the same page at all times, especially when it's time to turn a double play. This year, the middle of the Astros infield will be occupied by two newcomers, and most likely, they'll use Spring Training as a getting-to-know-you period.
Second baseman Kazuo Matsui and shortstop Miguel Tejada are virtual strangers, and clearly, there is work to do this spring. Not only do they not know each other, but they also will face language challenges -- Tejada, a native of the Dominican Republic, is fluent in Spanish and English. Japanese-born Matsui, however, is not.

His interpreter will get a lot of field time? His interpreter??? Oh that's just great!! They don't even speak the same language. And now Tejada might not even be with us. I bet we end up wishing we had Adam Everett back!

Seems to be the way our luck goes in trades these days. Ah well, kinda like my oldest deciding she's not having the baby - wants him to stay where he is and skip the whole birthing thing... too late to back out now!

Baseball is baseball no matter the language, so I can see them working through that barrier. Tejada not being there is more of an issue I would think.
Loretta / Matsui I guess.

From what I have read Loretta, Blum would be the most likely. Matsui, however came up at ss. He could move over, and Loretta can play second. That would be a last resort I would guess.
We may be jumping the gun. If there was not enough to charge Palmiero, I can't imagine Tejada getting charged, unless there is something I am not understanding.
Could still be a suspension though I guess.

It's fair to say that they do have some options.
