Congress asking for probe on Tejada
Request made to Justice Department to see if former MVP lied

"Tejada told the committee that he never used illegal performance-enhancing drugs and that he had no knowledge of other players using or even talking about steroids," Waxman said. "Well, the Mitchell Report, however, directly contradicts key elements of Mr. Tejada's testimony."

Great - if they plan on going after Tejada for perjury, they better decide to go after Palmeiro too. It's only fair.

Am I the only one, or is this getting old? I believe they need to prove the evidence in the Mitchell report to be true without doubt, before going after anyone. Then do a report on all professional sports, or none at all.
Besides, there has to be better things for congress to be doing.
Let MLB's testing policies be enough, and leave the past alone. Its time to move on.

I completely agree, however, Selig is the one who perpetuated this topic by initiating the Mitchell investigation in the first place. He shoulda said, "We acknowledge there was a problem. We have stricter policies and drug testing in the system now. Let's move on." He didn't, so here we are.
And I can just see us with Loretta as our everyday shortstop because Tejada is in prison for perjury.

I am tired of the tax money that is taken out of my check being wasted on a hearing for BASEBALL....this is BASEBALL....doesn't our tax money deserve to be spent on something more important like fixing social security, making sure our country is safe from terror, getting people off the streets, and finding a way to make it where we are not having to pay $3.00 a gallon for gasoline???
I don't like speaking about politics in this forum but to have congress holding a hearing on this erks the ever living crap out of me.

If I paid $3.00 a gallon, I'd be dam happy. Mine has been up to $3.50 or better for a long time now.

I could not have said it better myself and I agree with you 100%!
