There are several constants at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. There's the reliable address at 25 Main Street, the dignified brick façade of the Museum, the stately Hall of Fame plaque gallery, and the underrated research library. And then there's the presence of gentlemanly Hall of Fame right-hander Robin Roberts, who hasn't missed an induction ceremony in 31 years and frequently visits the Hall of Fame throughout the year.
Not surprisingly, Roberts has been named the Hall of Fame's official spokesman for the 2008 calendar year. It's an honor that he has received as much for his loyalty and devotion to the Hall of Fame as for the workmanlike brilliance he showed as the pitching ace of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1950s. Remaining ever present in Cooperstown, Roberts discussed his admiration for the Hall of Fame and the village while taking part in the Hall's third annual fantasy camp over Columbus Day Weekend.
