Default Pudge

I know that he hasn't retired yet, and that he's probably got a few good years left in him, but when he is done in the MLB, should he be in the Hall of Fame?

I think so. He is a .300 hitter for his career last time I looked, and a lot of people view him as one of the best catchers in the league, if not the best.

What do you guys think?

He's a 1st ballot Hall of Famer in my book.

Hrm...
  • Fourteen time All-Star
  • Thirteen Gold Gloves
  • Seven Silver Sluggers
  • .300+ batting average
  • 2500+ hits (likely, he's 5 away)

I'd say that Ivan Rodriguez is a lock for the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. He's a phenom behind the plate and, if it weren't for Mike Piazza, might be remembered as the best catcher of this era (for me it's a veritable toss-up between the two).

See? THIS is easy...Pudge is DEFINITELY a HOFer....and thats the only kind of player that should be allowed into Cooperstown--the obvious choices. If a guy MIGHT be worthy, or KINDA....or has to wait 13 years to be voted in...then they shouldn't be let it.
