The 2007 Hall of Fame ballot was released Monday, and three former Red Sox -- Jim Rice, Bret Saberhagen and Lee Smith -- are on it. Rice spent his entire 16-year career in Boston, batting .298 with 382 home runs and collecting 1,451 RBIs in 2,089 games.
Jim rice deserves to be in the hall. There are plenty of players like tony perez that are in with numbers not as good as rices. The problem with the hall of fame is the people who vote.
i guess its just a matter of opinion .rice gets my vote
Once you get past the no-brainers for cooperstown, you kinda have to set your own standards and roll with them -- He makes some people's and not others -- That being said, i would necessarily MIND him going in, but he wouldn't get my vote.

Since they have a voting panel to get guys into the Hall, then I think that they should have a voting panel to kick guys out, Rice has better numbers than some in the Hall, but I think some of those guys who are in should be kicked off!!!
Oh, in my mind the Hall of Fame should be the best of all-time, those three are not. Plus+++ to be honest the way Mcguire and Sosa had a run of increasing numbers of fans to baseball, yep he should be in and when Sosa calls it quits if he doesn't come back this year--he should be in as well. If steroids played a factor in their performance then so be it. They packed fans to see them even in stadiums that had an average of 7000 per game were seeing a sold out crowd. Sorry to get off track!
