Well, maybe not.
The 23-year-old Marlins lefty got a crash course in acting Thursday night for a TV commercial promoting the team and the upcoming season.
Wearing the Marlins' home white, pinstriped uniform, No. 34 had to memorize three lines while acting out a comical 15-second commercial.
Keeping with the team's 2007 promotional tag line, "You Gotta Be Here!" Olsen made a surprise visit to a man who was shopping.
One of the sets that was taped was Olsen standing with his back to the camera outside a dressing room door in a shopping center. A man asks his wife to bring in a pair of pants. When the man opens the door, he is startled to see a baseball player handing him his slacks.
"Where were you last night?" Olsen says as he hands over the pants. "I didn't see you at the game. You'd rather shop than see the Marlins?"
Olsen, Josh Johnson and Dan Uggla are taking part in this ad campaign aimed at drawing more fans to Dolphin Stadium. Traditionally, the club has strong TV ratings, but attendance ranked last in the league a year ago.
"It's fun," Olsen said of the acting experience. "The toughest part is having to remember my lines. I'd do better if I just talked. I remembered I had three lines, just like I have three pitches."
