This thread is comparing Trevor Hoffman against Mariano Rivera. Give some cons of BOTH and some pro's of both. Pretend Hoffman is still playing.


Who would you rather have on your team and why?

Who would you rather have with the bases loaded, 2 outs, winning run on third?


Me, I think that Mariano Rivera is a better pitcher than Hoffman, but just by a little. I'd like to have Trevor Hoffman on my team because of his nasty nasty changeup, that thing is fun to watch.

I'd want Mo on my team with the bags full. Hoffman tended to blew a little too many games that cost the Padres the past 2-3 years. I believe that this is Rivera's last year, and even then he seems like he is 25 years old.

I'd say I agree with you, except I met Trevor just a couple months ago and got to talk to him a lot about pitching.. so I'm biased when it comes to that

But no question I'd want Rivera when the games on the line.
