Detroit Tigers End a Positive Home Stand With a Loss
The Detroit Tigers ended their seven game home stand with a loss to the New York Yankees on Thursday afternoon. Although the Tigers had lost two straight games to cap of the home stand, there was a lot of positives over the seven games.
The offense really came alive, and was hard to keep down. The Tigers’ offense scored 57 runs in just seven games, and was a nightmare for opposing starting pitchers.
Perhaps the best example was game three of the series against the Indians. The Indians were trying to avoid nine straight loses and had Chris Perez on the mound trying to lock down another save against the Tigers. He retired the first two batters he faced before the Tigers dropped a five spot on him, that featured a Miguel Cabrera walk off home run.
