Tigers manager Jim Leyland said it's simply a matter of running out of ideas in trying to get Ordonez's bat jump-started.

Ordonez is less than 200 plate appearances from vesting his 2010 option for $18 million.

I personally don't think this is a money ordeal. First of all the Tigers have plenty of money... Maggs has just been struggling this year as you can see with his .271 batting average and the lack of homers (2). The Tigers have been playing without him in the lineup however and if they keep it up he could lose his starting job if he doesn't get out of this slump.
