Jim Leyland said he didn't know how long Carlos Guillen would be out with the strained right hamstring he suffered Saturday night. But the Tigers manager seemed braced for the possibility the shortstop will miss several games.

"I'm never too optimistic about hamstrings," he said. "They (hamstring injuries) are usually not good. ... Hamstrings are a real gray area."
