DETROIT -- Curtis Granderson is one stylin' dude with four necklaces braided around his neck.
Brandon Inge has more of a demonic look going -- intense red eyes staring back from beneath the bill of his cap.
But there's more than a fashion statement -- or intimidation factor -- going on here.
Granderson's necklaces are made with aqua-titanium, which the manufacturer purports relaxes muscles and increases blood circulation, thereby decreasing pain and fatigue.
Inge's eye tint is from wearing special contact lenses especially developed for outdoor sports like baseball, football and tennis.
Those are just two of numerous products marketed to both the elite and weekend athletes in search of an edge.
"I'll try anything as long as I feel it's not going to injure me," Granderson said.
