PITTSBURGH -- This entire season has been about the kind of baseball the Tigers haven't played in a long time.

So was Saturday night's game.

In a completely different way.

For one thing, it was a loss, ending the Tigers’ seven-game winning streak and just the third loss in their last 20 games. At the halfway mark, though, they are 55-26 -- their third-best record ever after 81 games.

For another, it was -- well, it was pretty nasty.

In their sloppiest game of the season - one that included infield errors on three consecutive plays in the seventh - the Tigers lost 9-2 to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.

Make that three errors in the Pirates’ seven-run seventh, which was more than enough to break open what had been a tight game through the first six innings.

I hate to be the barer of bad news but i feel like the white soxs will edge out the tigers in the division to take first place but thats JMO...
