This thread will be about the home of the detroit tigers historic tiger stadium.

Since 1966 my father and I (yeah, my brother too) made many trips to Tiger Stadium. I will never forget all the excitement over the years. But, there was always a chance that our seat would be behind a steel pillar. Or a "LONG-GONE" ball would disappear from sight as it climbed above the overhang.
The wave of the future, and modern architecture (engineering & material) has given us Comerica Park. It is a fine place to watch a game. I have sat in nearly every section at one time or another. Not a bad seat in the house. With a few pennants and dramatic finishes, it will produce similar memories.

p.s. I could do without all the "fluff"; faris wheel, carousel, batting cages, face painting, etc... We are supposed to watch the game!

Only 4 players ever hit a homerun over the left field roof at tiger stadium.harmon killebrew did it in 1962,frank howard did it in 1968,cecil fielder did it in 1990 and Mark McGwire did it in 1997.

My great grandmother loved tigers stadium! she lived right on trumble and would either take the b us or walk to the stadium. she loved baseball and was just a total fanatic.

Me I have only been to tiger stadium one time for the game before the final game at the stadium.. it was kinda sad cause some of the diehards were sitting there and they just didnt look happy at all. I guess some people do not like change. but i think this new stadium is beautiful.

and now, they are earning this new stadium..

its really nice to see.. all i can say its about time for tigers fans.. they have been waiting a long time to see a good , contending team

On 7-1-1997 bobby higginson homered in the first inning of a game vs the new york mets at tiger stadium, tying a major league record by homering in four consecutive at bats over two games. he was the 23rd player since 1900 to do this feat.
