Cleveland Selects Beau Mills In First In Round Of Draft

This is an outstanding pick for the Indians, who are probably surprised he dropped to them. He's a tremendous power hitter, but his position is a question, although he could work out as a DH. He's clearly not a third baseman. He's the first guy from a non-Division I school, and in fact, it's an NAIA school. But it's one that has produced a lot of talent, and Mills is the latest example.
Something tells me this guy will be good for Cleveland. Every year some guy with a weird name comes and performs well. Milton Bradley turned out to be normal (normal except for his standout season for Cleveland) compared to Coco Crisp. Then came Grady Sizemore. I think Beau Mills fits. They could use a good prospect to come in with Francisco and Gutierrez in a couple years.
He can get to first base, even hit someone in on base.
Anyone like his AVG or OPS?

The main issue is defense. Shoulder problems have limited his arm strength, and he doesn't have a lot of mobility. He'll probably end up at first base eventually.
