When a former general manager comes to a club with a World Series title on his résumé, it might be hard for him to check the ego at the office front door.

But Jeff Brantley, who played for Walt Jocketty and knows him well, thinks Jocketty will do just that.

"Will ego be an issue for Walt Jocketty?" Brantley said. "Not a chance. He's going to do everything he can for the betterment of the ballclub and to make Dusty Baker and Wayne Krivsky look good."
