Reds give back to the community...
The Reds and Hoxworth Blood Center hosted the inaugural Reds Community Blood Drive yesterday at Great American Ball Park. They ended up having 112 volunteers donate blood and 22 signed up to the National Bone Barrow registry program. Good deal for the Reds organization.
Just a little info about Hoxworth taken from the article:
"Hoxworth Blood Center, a not-for-profit arm of the University of Cincinnati, supplies blood to 28 hospitals in greater Cincinnati and the surrounding tri-state area. The center, which is the second-oldest blood donation center in the country, runs nine donor centers and five mobile operations daily, bringing in a combined average of around 95,000 pints of blood per year."
