TUCSON, Ariz. -- Over the past few weeks of Spring Training, when it appeared Joe Crede was going nowhere but into the starting lineup as the White Sox third baseman, Ken Williams spoke of "the talk" he dreaded having with Josh Fields before White Sox broke camp.
It was the talk that involved one of the more impressive rookies with the bat last year being sent down to the Minor Leagues to begin the 2008 season, basically because there was no other position for Fields. On Tuesday morning, prior to the White Sox Cactus League game at Hi Corbett Field, Williams sat down with Fields and had that talk.

Yes, Fields was impressive at bat last season. But, with Crede, he has to go to triple-A. But there have been rumors that we will trade Crede for a while, so this could be for a short time.
