TUCSON, Ariz. -- With all due respect to second-year standout Josh Fields, a little piece of action Saturday morning at the Kino Sports Complex marked an event White Sox fans had been waiting for since early June of last season.
There was Joe Crede, the 2005 playoff hero and 2006 Silver Slugger winner among American League third baseman, taking cuts in the batting cage and making solid contact during most of his session. Crede had received medical clearance to report early with pitchers and catchers and proclaimed himself to be in good health following season-ending back surgery, without any concerns of a setback as he moved toward a 2008 return.

Hope he is healthy enough! He is a good asset to the White Sox.
