He never played for the Major League team, and the Cubs had acquired him for cash considerations in January 2006.

Pagan batted .255 with nine home runs and 39 RBIs in 148 career games with the Cubs in 2006 and 2007. He began last season at Triple-A Iowa before he was recalled to the big league team on May 10. Pagan batted .264 with four home runs and 21 RBIs in 71 games before landing on the disabled list in August with colitis, ending his season.

Meyers, 22, combined to go 1-4 with a 2.79 ERA in 41 relief appearances between New York's Class A Savannah and Port St. Lucie affiliates in 2007. He struck out 55 batters and walked only 16 in 51 2/3 innings, while limiting opponents to a .229 batting average.

The right-hander spent most of the season as the closer with Savannah, recording 13 saves with a 2.14 ERA and .185 batting average against. He was a 17th-round pick by the Mets in the 2003 First-Year Player Draft.

Coles, 25, combined to bat .286 with 14 doubles, one home run and 31 RBIs during three stops in the Mets' Minor League system last year, including his first tastes of Double-A and Triple-A. He spent most of the '07 season with Double-A Binghamton and batted .296 with a .352 on-base percentage in 66 games. Coles also played 23 games with Port St. Lucie and nine games with Triple-A New Orleans last year.
Pagan played strong during the time he got. Not too fond of this move.
