As a total Newbie (so be gentle with me) to this forum and baseball in general, I will predict that the Cubs will beat Florida Marlins on July 25th because I will be in the crowd rooting them on! Only my second game. My last (and first)game was Phoenix v's Marlins in 2005. I was rooting for Diamondbacks but on the night they lost. It seems ironic that my second game should feature the Marlins again - perhaps I should be rooting for them.
Would love to see games more often than every 3 years but it's too far to commute seeing as I'm across the pond as we say.
Without wishing to be too contentious, would I be better off going to see the White Sox while I'm in Chicago rather than the Cubs? (I'm standing well back waiting for the potential abuse that's sure to follow)
While I'm at it whats the difference between the American League and National League? Is one considered a higher level than the other? I ask because while it my seem obvious to all forum readers it isn't to me.
