DENVER -- There was a $100 bill sitting on Dusty Baker's desk before the Cubs faced the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Nearby was a candle and at least one book on motivation.
While the former likely was a tip for the clubhouse manager, the latter were telltale items for someone in search of serenity.
That search did not go in vain -- at least in the short term -- as the Cubs snapped a four-game losing streak with an 8-7 victory, giving about half the crowd of 35,408 something to cheer about.
