The Cubs getting back into contention? Nah.

We’re talking here about Cubs manager Dusty Baker. Just one month ago, the odds of Baker making it through the season, let alone finishing it, appeared to be 20-80 against.

Today, my ear-to-the-ground intelligence indications tell me that Baker is no worse than 50-50 at coming back, and his stock may even be rising.

That’s nothing short of shocking, considering the Cubs were on pace to lose 100 games a few weeks back.
