Default Maddux’s dry spell continues

In the speculation swirling around which Cubs might get dealt before the trade deadline, the name of future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux is sometimes included.

At the rate things are going, however, the question might not be if the Cubs will trade the 325-game winner, but will a contender really want Maddux in its rotation?

Maddux’s struggles continued Friday in a 6-3 loss to the New York Mets. He allowed 8 hits and 6 runs (5 earned) in 7 innings to fall to 7-10.

It was the fifth straight loss for Maddux, who talked after the game about the rumors.

“Who knows what’s really going on? I learned a long time ago not to believe what you read in the paper,” Maddux said. “When it happens, it happens.

“I love playing in Chicago, no question but I understand there’s choices that have to be made. The city and the organization have been great to me. Whatever happens, happens. Either way, I’m good with it.”

Lightbulb Maddux to Mets?

The problem with Maddux is the same problem that every finess pitcher is having on major league baseball. it's being a bad year for finess pitchers.
Only guys who can throw heat, are doing very well.
I read something about a possible trade, that would send Maddux to the NY Mets (my team ), but i don't think it's going to happen. we already too many finess pitchers. probably just another NY newspaper rumor.
But with the Cubs, it seems, entering a rebuilt process i think Maddux will be traded.

There was a rumor of Trot Nixon for Maddux and Jacque Jones.

I wouldn't want Jones though, for obvious reasons.
