Matsuzaka May Be Pitching His Way Out Of Postseason
Quote:
“You’re getting way ahead of yourself,” is Red Sox [team stats] manager Terry Francona’s standard response whenever someone asks about his plans for the postseason. It’s the right thing to say. After all, it would be bad form for a big league manager to be leaning back in his chair in these early days of September, talking about the team he hopes to put on the field in the early days of October.
But we all know better. This organization is nothing if not prepared, which means that, yes, absolutely, Francona is meeting regularly with general manager Theo Epstein and the various lieutenants from baseball operations to discuss October baseball.
And it’s frightening to imagine what they must be saying when the talk turns to Daisuke Matsuzaka, who continues to be, in a word, terrible.
Let’s put it this way: Unless he turns things around soon, it will be difficult for the Red Sox to give Matsuzaka a postseason starting assignment. After lasting just 2 2/3 innings in the Red Sox’ 11-5 loss to the Baltimore Orioles last night at Camden Yards - the shortest outing by a Sox starter this season - Matsuzaka is now 1-4 with a 5.57 ERA in his last five starts.

First of all, Dude, can you please stop putting lol and lmao so much, you're taking all the fun out of those abbreviations with your constant use.
Secondly, yes Clemens and Igawa didn't work out. Me, being a Yankee fan, thought it was a bad idea to get Clemens in the first place. He's past his prime and I don't care what he did the previous season, he's never been that great as a Yank.
But that's not the point, with the huge publicity generated in pre-season about the Boston deity of Matsuzaka, you'd think, since the Sox payed $100 million for him, that his season would be a bit better.

F-off dude! What is your problem? I didn't have any indication that I was being a sore loser. You're just being a poor winner. I'll admit it, the Sox were better this season. Am I now what you'd call humble?
All I was saying that this thread isn't about being a douche and rubbing the Yankee loss in, like what you're doing. This thread is about Matsuzaka and the season he has had, not about the Boston and Yank rivalry. At least that's not what I took from it.
By the way, I was never saying he isn't going to be good in the future, but that he underperformed from what everyone was to expect out of the spectacle they made of his arrival.
Why don't you go to another thread if you want to gloat, like an a-hole. And leave this thread to those competent enough to have an opinion on Dice-K's season.
*Pardon my French.*
