USA Today has named the Boston Red Sox winning the World Series the greatest sports story of the past 25 years. Good choice?

Hell yeah its a good choice. Considering what they had to go through, coming back from 3-0 down in a series against the Yankees no less, Schilling's performance on a sutured tendon, Bib Papi's heroics against the Yankees, all the high tension long extra inning games, and then beating down the high power Cardinal offense in the World Series, I'd say its hard to pick against them.

the white sox sweep of them in 2005 is better than that. el duque pitched out of a jam!

Are you kidding me?

The Red Sox were down 3-0 in the LCS and came back, first team in the history of baseball to do it and the 4th in professional sports, and against their biggest rivals no less, that a helluva lot more of a jam then pitching out of a bases loaded jam. I just can't get over how stupid of a comment that was.

Not as good as the Yankees 96 world series win after a long absence. Maybe as good, but not better. There was more shock of the Red Sox win, while it was more relief with the Yankees

It is the best story in the last 25 years. If not it is definatly the best baseball story in the last 25 years. I think the World Series victory was a better story than the comeback against the Yankees in the ALCS.
