Default opening day

the sox started the new baseball year with a loss to the AL minnows Kansas City 7-1.

starter Curt Schilling was tagged for five runs on eight hits in four rocky innings and the lineup was stifled by new Royals ace right-hander Gil Meche. David Ortiz represented the Boston offense with an RBI double in the first.

The Royals invested a lot in Gil Meche, and the right-hander delivered on Opening Day, allowing just one run and six hits in 7 1/3 innings for the win. Mark Grudzielanek paced the offense with three hits and three RBIs.

Great way to start the season^^.

Gil Meche's signing was a horrible one but hey, he looks pretty good.

I am quite surprised how well the Royals are looking out of the gate this year. We will see if they can tag the Sox again today. Personally I would like to see the Rays beat the Yanks instead of the Royals over the Sox.

well a 7-1 win today to the sox, youk goes yard and beckett racked up his first win of the season.

next up: dice-k will make his first major league start for the sox while greinke, who has been out of the game since 2005 will start up for the royals at Kauffman stadium.

i'm looking forward to seeing how dice-k throws and i think its good that he is opening up against a team like the royals instead of someone like the angels or the yanks. also it will be exciting to see greinke pitch. hopefully he pitches well, but not too well haha. i think if he pitches well he'll be a very handy number 3 for them this season

I am very curious how Dice-K will pitch. I might turn on the game to see how he looks. The Brewers are off today.

The Official Site of The Boston Red Sox: News: Boston Red Sox News

it should come up in bold black to the left of the photo. worth watching because it shows the difference between american mechanics and other countries.
