The standing ovation that greeted Big Papi was prolonged by a considerately timed trip to the mound by his former Twins teammate and current White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski.
Ortiz was back where he belonged - in the batter’s box, striking fear in the minds of opposing pitchers and delighting Red Sox fans and his teammates with Ruthian talent at the plate.
