Default Question?

Since Gehrig and Ruth were the greatest duo in Yankee history who would you say was/is the greatest duo for the rest of the teams out there for their history?

This is a great question, I'll have to take some time to think about this

I don't necessarily think all teams have had great duos. However, here are a few that came to mind:

Red Sox - David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez
Dodgers - Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax
Braves - Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux
Tigers - Ty Cobb and Sam Crawford/Harry Heilmann
Athletics - Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco
Mariners - Ken Griffey, Jr. and Edgar Martinez/Alex Rodriguez
Reds - Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan/Pete Rose

NY Yankees - A-Rod at third and Derek Jeter at short was the best left side of the infield in baseball history.

Cardinals Bob Gibson and Lou Brock.

Bob Gibson and Stan Musial (before Brock was a Cardinal)

Gotta agree with tbf. Bob Gibson and Stan Musial has to be one of the best if not the best.

Gibson and Musial were only together for five seasons, though. And, at that point in their respective careers, Musial was a shell of his former self (hitting .283) and Gibson was slightly better than league-average. I'm not sure that I agree with that.

Musial and Enos Slaughter I could work with.

I think Chase Utley and Ryan Howard will join these greats some day.
