He is too good to be left out. Just because he made one mistake, which has nothing to do with his on-field performance, he should not be left out.

I really liked Pete Rose, I just don't see him in the HOF anytime in the next decade.

Baseball talent and carrer, his resume is more than sufficient. Just the legal problems and grudges that really backfired on him.

In.

He's human, he made a mistake. I think that he does deserve in.

In defense of Rose, Joe Jackson and his teammates threw the World Series, to me that's a lot more serious than betting on baseball, either way they both broke the rules, but they still both deserve to be in the hall of fame, by the numbers anyways.

In.
I think what he did as a manager should not detract from his playing career. Keep the lifetime ineligablilty from being an active participant in MLB. No manager jobs, no executive positions, no use of MLB logos or affiliations to make a profit, etc. The lifetime hits leader should be in the hall.

As for Joe Jackson, he should be in as well.

I think he should be in. What he did was no worse than what "Generation Juicer" is doing, and I guarantee we'll be having the same debate in 5-6 years when Barry is on the ballot. Of course, by then the truth will hopefully come out.

Pete should definetly be in...its always going to be a tricky subject though. If he did infact always bet for his team like he claims...that is some serious dedication and belief. Maybe its what drove him to try and be the best...we all have ways of doing that and may never fully agree which ways are acceptable or not. He broke the rules...but even inmates are paroled...
