Default Orioles on the radio

The Orioles will return to their radio affiliate roots in York, PA in 2007, as the club today announced a multi-year agreement with WOYK-AM 1350 and its sister station, WPDC-AM 1600 in Lancaster, PA. WOYK-AM, now an ESPN Radio affiliate, also broadcast Orioles' games from the time the club moved to Baltimore from St. Louis in 1954 through the 1986 season.
ESPN 1350 and ESPN 1600 will air a full schedule of regular season games and select spring training games beginning in March. Programming will also include a year-round weekly sports show featuring team reports, player call-ins and live remote broadcasts from Orioles events in the area, as well as an off-season baseball program focusing on the Orioles.

"We are pleased to re-establish our partnership with WOYK-AM," said Orioles Director of Communications Greg Bader. "The addition of these two ESPN Radio affiliates will allow listeners in central Pennsylvania to follow the Orioles when they can't make it to the ballpark, and the ancillary Orioles programming will give fans the opportunity to keep up with news about the team throughout the year."

"After a 20 year absence, WOYK is proud to once again bring the rich tradition of Orioles baseball to our listeners," said WOYK-AM General Manager Vince Grande. "Given the large number of Orioles fans in central Pennsylvania, this is a great opportunity for us and our sister station, ESPN 1600, and we look forward to an exciting 2007 season."

The partnership increases the number of Orioles Radio Network affiliates to 18 stations in four states - Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia - and Washington, DC.
