Their top priority still appears to be finding another starting pitcher, but the Diamondbacks are open to adding arms of any kind. To that end, they are planning to watch free agent reliever Chad Cordero throw sometime this week.
Cordero could be low-cost option on the free agent market, but he will come with questions attached following major shoulder surgery.
The former closer for the Washington Nationals, Cordero had surgery to repair a torn labrum on July 8, a procedure that typically takes at least 12 months from which to recover. But Cordero has said that he hopes to be ready by April.
