This is when I became a Braves fan. I was young, we just moved the Atlanta, and you could go to Braves games for absolutely nothing, and literally sit anywhere you wanted (generally we sat behind home plate/the dugout 15 or so rows up) because hardly anyone went to the games. You went to the games for 2 reasons. 1) To watch Dale Murphy play. 2) To watch whoever the Braves were playing.

Compared to some of the other guys in the Hall, he really doesn't belong. To Braves fans, they'll always think he belongs because he's the best they saw for so many years.
I started keeping up with the Braves in the mid 80's. The years that every Braves fan longs to forget. Dale Murphy was all we had. He stuck it out with the Braves too. He will always be my favorite Brave. He's not great compared to a lot of today's players but back then he was super human. He'll probably never be voted in because of how bad the Braves were when he played for them. Had it been the other way around he would have been voted in a long time ago.
