Hey guys!
Thanks for the input!
BenFink: are you familiar with OOTP or WIS?
OOTP is a PC baseball simulator. Pros = 1 time purchase (unless you want to update it every year to include the latest season. Cons = It is quite involved and has some gameplay issues, and quirks that I'm not real fond of. But it's not bad...
WIS is a web-based Sports simulation site. Pros = Although there are some gameplay issues. on a game to game basis, it's about the most realistic baseball simulator I've ever played. Cons = $12.95 for a full season team. The "sim season" lasts approximately 2 months. So to me it's not a bad deal (13 bucks for 2 months of entertainment)
I have been wrestling back and forth with the best way to run it...
I completed one season with a league where I "drafted" all 24 rosters myself, and got other owners to buy the teams and play them. It was pretty great. The teams were balanced very well with the exception of one team who was 10-12 games better than the 2nd best record, and about 3 teams who finished under 65 wins.
18 of the 24 teams were within 3 games of the post season.
