Jon Daniels better bust a move on the offer he has in front of him. The Braves just pulled back one of the pitching prospects that was involved in the deal, so it might get a little tricky. The Braves are willing to part with young stud, switch-hitting Catcher/First Baseman Jarrod Saltalamacchia and young Shortstop prospect Elvis Andrus. They are wanting, of course, our gold-glove/slugging First Baseman, Mark Teixeira in return. They are also in need of a lefty arm in the bullpen. They are looking at C.J. Wilson and Ron Mahay. Wilson probably won't go, but Mahay is more expendable. I see him going in that deal.
It will be interesting to see how this deal plays out in the end with only less than 48 hours to go until the deadline strikes. Many teams have made offers, but it seems as if the Braves offer is the best one out there yet. All in all, I see Teixeira playing for the Atlanta Braves after the July 31st deadline. Stay tuned.
