The Yanks came from behind to take the day game of the doubleheader but commanded the nightcap from the first frame. Every starter got a hit and all but one scored during a 20-hit attack that included A-Rod's 497th career homer.

The Rays watched an early lead get away in Game 1 of Saturday's twin bill and were never a factor in the nightcap. Starter J.P. Howell allowed three runs in the first inning, giving the Yankees a lead they'd never relinquish. Josh Wilson had three RBIs and B.J. Upton two in the loss.
