2. He doesn't want Randy Johnson to pass him on the Career Strikeout List. RJ is only 41 Ks behind with 4563 to RC's 4604. He has no hope of reaching Nolan Ryan's 5714 Ks.
3. Two more wins and he moves into 8th place on the All-Time Career Wins List. He has a shot to move up to a 6th place 3-way tie with 20 more wins. Three more beyond that would move him to into 5th place ahead of Warren Spahn. It's worth a shot.
4. He doesn't want Greg Maddux with 318 Career Wins to pass him.
5. Because the amount of money he's being offered is incredible.
