Report: White Sox agree with RHP Colon
NEW YORK (TICKER) —The
Chicago White Sox have reached an agreement on a one-year contract with righthander
Bartolo Colon, according to multiple reports Wednesday.
The 35-year-old Colon, who has battled shoulder and back problems in recent years, will need to complete a physical before the deal is finalized.
This will be Colon’s second stint with the White Sox after going 15-13 with a 3.87 ERA in a career-high 242 innings with the club in 2003. He signed a four-year, $51 million contract as a free agent with the
Anaheim Angels the following offseason and won the Cy Young Award in 2005 before breaking down and undergoing surgery to repair his shoulder.
