Major League veteran Josh Phelps went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, falling a triple shy of the cycle, as the Redbirds held off the visiting Nashville Sounds, 5-4. Former Major Leaguer John Wasdin notched his fourth win, allowing two hits over two innings of scoreless relief.

Allen Craig had two hits and scored twice, but the visiting Cardinals were beaten by the San Antonio Missions, 5-2. Mark McCormick allowed an unearned run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts over four innings, but didn't figure in the decision for Springfield.

Joshua Wilson allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out three over 4 2/3 innings, but didn't figure in the decision for Quad Cities.
